Dr. Anup Singh has been working as a faculty in the Centre for Biomedical Engineering (CBME), IIT-Delhi since March 2014. He is also associated as a faculty with the Department of Biomedical Engineering, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He has been actively involved in research, teaching, student supervision and administration activities. Currently, his group is pursuing multiple research projects on development of methodology of quantitative multi-parametric MRI and evaluating its potential applications to cancer (brain tumor, breast cancer and prostate cancer) diagnosis and treatment monitoring. His group uses conventional as well as Machine-Learning approaches for data processing and data analysis. His group also works on development of MRI protocols, MRI compatible devices and imaging phantom design and testing.

He has research collaborations with clinicians and researchers from AIIMS Delhi, Fortis Hospital Gurugram, Mahajan Imaging Centre Delhi, NIMHANS Hospital Bangalore, and University of Pennsylvania, USA. Dr. Singh received a PhD degree from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT-Kanpur) in 2008. Dr. Singh has worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher (Aug 2008 – March 2013) in the Center for Magnetic Resonance and Optical Imaging (CMROI), Department of Radiology at University of Pennsylvania(UPENN) and then as a Research Associate (April 2013 - March 2014) in the same Center. Dr. Singh has more than 60 peer reviewed publications (two in a high profile journal “Nature Medicine”) and more than 70 conference proceedings. He has three US patents on CEST-MRI related research work and filed one Indian patent on development of MR compatible knee joint loading device.

Mr. Rizwan Koita is an entrepreneur and philanthropist with a passion to leverage emerging technologies and business process innovation to have meaningful social impact. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay & a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from MIT – ranked at the top in both programs.

After graduation, Mr. Koita joined McKinsey & Co., a global management consulting firm, and spent 5 years advising corporations on business strategy and operations. He left McKinsey in 1999 to cofound TransWorks, one of the first business process outsourcing (BPO) firms in India. In 2003, TransWorks was acquired by the Aditya Birla Group, when it was 1,800 professionals strong, becoming one of the first successful business exits in the Indian BPO industry.

In his second venture, Mr. Koita envisioned building a next generation healthcare technology company, which would leverage technology innovation to improve healthcare worldwide. He co-founded CitiusTech (www.citiustech.com) in 2005, and served as CitiusTech’s CEO till October 2021. He stepped down from his executive role to spend more time in not-for-profit initiatives. He continues to be a key shareholder and closely involved with CitiusTech.

Under his leadership, CitiusTech has become one of the fastest growing healthcare technology company, with over Rs. 3,300 Crores in revenues, over 7,500 technology professionals and serving more than 150 healthcare organizations worldwide. CitiusTech is recognized for its expertise in next-gen enterprise applications, interoperability, data, analytics and AI/ML. In 2019, Baring Private Equity Asia (www.bpeasia.com) invested in CitiusTech, valuing the company at over USD 1.0 Billion and making CitiusTech India’s first healthcare technology Unicorn and India’s 25th Unicorn. Mr. Koita is actively associated with multiple social initiatives. His philanthropic venture, Koita Foundation (www.koitafoundation.org), focuses on 2 areas – Digital Health and NGOs Transformation. As part of its Digital Health focus, KF partners with leading academic institutions, hospitals, healthcare companies, and industry associations to drive Digital Health adoption in India. In 2021, KF partnered with IIT Bombay, India’s #1 academic institution, to establish the Koita Centre for Digital Health (www.kcdh.iitb.ac.in). KF has also partnered with the National Cancer Grid (NCG) and Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) in 2022 to form the Koita Centre for Digital Oncology under the aegis of NCG. Mr. Koita is on the board of NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) and on the advisory board of many NGOs.

Mr. Koita is a winner of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Hall of Fame Award in 2022. Mr. Koita received the prestigious IIT Bombay’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2019. He also received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of Year Award in 2013, and the Young Achievers Award for Business by the Indo-American Society in 2002.

Chetan Arora is an Associate Professor with Computer Science Department at IIT Delhi and a joint faculty with Yardi School of AI and ANSK School of Information Technology. He received Ph.D. in Computer Science and B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, both from IIT Delhi in 2012 and 1999 respectively. He did his Post-Doctoral Research with Prof. Shmuel Peleg from 2012-2014 in Hebrew University, Israel. Prior to joining IIT Delhi, he was an Assistant Professor with IIIT Delhi.

Chetan’s expertise is in computer vision, and machine learning, and his research interests includes Trustworthy AI, Scene Understanding, and Medical Imaging. He has published more than 70 high quality peer-reviewed papers, with more than 40 in CORE A/A* ranked computer vision conferences. Prior to returning to academics, Chetan has spent over 10 years in industry, where he co-founded 3 startups, all working on computer vision products coming out of latest research ideas.

Chetan has served as an area chair at ICVGIP 2016, WACV 2022, program chair at NCVPRIPG 2017, ICVGIP 2020, ICVGIP 2021, Workshop on Assistive Vision held with ACCV 2016, and Workshop on Computer Vision Applications held with ICVGIP 2018. Apart from his academic research, he is also committed to applications of computer vision for persons with disabilities.

Amrish Kumar is currently working as Senior Delivery Head heading AI, EDS, AR/VR and innovation for Legato Health technologies.

Amrish brings over a decade of leadership experience in large-scale e-commerce systems, hybrid/cloud-based systems, AI/Machine learning, big data-based platforms, microservices, and delivering SaaS solutions including 15 years in the US.

Having worked with reputed conglomerates such as Priceline.com (Booking Holdings), Cerner Corporation (Oracle), and Cars24, Amrish has been a part of large and entrepreneurial setups across the US and India bringing immersive leadership experience in AI, machine learning, and enterprise data science, especially in travel, retail, e-commerce, healthcare, and insurance domains.

He always wanted to come back to India to contribute in some way. So, he joined Ixigo as VP of Technology leading various verticals including Research/AI, Product Development, Digital & Mobile Platforms. Prior to joining Legato, he was with Cars24 as VP of Technology heading SE Asia as CTO for AI, Data, and Digital/Mobile platforms.

Amish’s academic qualifications - Earned his B.Tech. degree from IIT Kanpur, India and an MS from the State University of New York. Buffalo, NY, USA where he specialized in AI/AR/VR/Machine Learning. He also has an MS in Information Systems and Management from UC Berkley, USA, and an MBA from Welch College of Business, USA specializing in Finance, Product Management, and Digital Marketing. He has also published numerous papers in the IEEE Conference and the American Journal of Urology and has given various talks on AI/Machine learning.

Dr. Ambuj Chaturvedi is Senior Vice-President & Board Director, IKP Knowledge Park.

A clinician by training, Dr. Ambuj is a surgeon with hands-on experience across multiple specialties (General, Onco-surgery, and finally, Neuro-surgery) and diverse healthcare delivery settings (PHC, Government tertiary care, and Corporate hospitals). Post a 7-year clinical stint, Dr. Ambuj opted for postgraduate management education (MBA-Gold-Medallist, Goa Institute of Management) and then spent the next decade with the Med-Tech industry.

With roles across commercial functions at Johnson & Johnson Medical India, followed by leadership roles at Medtronic India (Medical Affairs, followed by R&D Head - Emerging Markets), Dr. Ambuj then transitioned into a senior leadership role at IKP Knowledge Park, heading healthcare initiatives. At IKP, Dr. Ambuj leads multiple verticals, including an accelerator fund, DEEP (D-Health Elite Enterprise Program) that mentors and provides bridge-funding for commercial-ready start-ups operating in the digital healthcare space. His latest engagement with the ecosystem involves leading industry and clinical partnerships for the Amrit Grand Challenge-Jan Care program, a nationwide initiative that aims to scout and groom promising innovations in the primary healthcare space by leveraging digital technologies.

Dr. Ambuj also sits on review committees for evaluation and mentoring at the Department of Biotechnology (GOI), T-Hub (State of Telangana),CII task force on Med-Tech, AIM centres and incubators across India as well as academic institutions like CCMB, IIT-H, and IIIT-H.

Donning multiple hats (clinician, marketer, medical affairs, business leader, technology evangelist and now, innovation head), Dr. Ambuj brings in a unique blend of insights and loves to share them with a wide range of audiences.

Adnan Bohori leads the Eaton Research Labs, India - Eaton's Corporate R&D group at Eaton India Innovation Center, Pune. His team develops advanced technologies in domains of Distributed Energy Resource Management, Prognostics and Health Management, Electrical Machines, Polymer Nanocomposites and Advanced Metal Alloys. Prior to joining Eaton in 2021, Adnan worked at GE India Technology Center, Bangalore for 18 years. For major part of his tenure with GE, he was with GE's corporate R&D team where he led development of novel arc flash protection device, wireless power transfer system and linear electrical motor technology. He played various leadership roles at GE including Technology Manager at GE Corporate Research and Systems Engineering Manager at GE Healthcare.

Adnan holds a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and has filed over 50 patents in various technology domains.

Dr. Anshuman Awasthi

Dr. Anshuman Awasthi

Dr. Anshuman Awasthi is VP and Head for EV & Hybrids development at Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), Bangalore. He also heads the Innovation program at MBRDI.

After studying Aerospace Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 1999, Anshuman moved to RWTH Aachen in Germany to pursue his PhD in Mechanical Engineering on a fellowship from the German Research Foundation (DFG). In 2004, he moved back to India and joined National Aerospace Laboratories Bangalore to continue post-doctoral research work to study thermal non-equilibrium as well as supersonic-combustion ramjets.

Anshuman started his automotive career from General Motors Technical Centre India as a technical expert in the area of thermal management and safety and soon he was driving test cars all over India and testing them in some of the extreme conditions. Later he took the development responsibility of air-conditioning and engine cooling systems for all Chevrolet carlines in India. In November 2009, he joined MBRDI where he established and led teams on various functional evaluation topics. He has expertise in mathematical modelling of process, systems as well as functions and has led the development of various first-in-the-industry mathematical models for Mercedes-Benz.

As head of the R&D for EV and Hybrids, Anshuman is responsible for the software, functions, and EE development along with advanced data analytics/science for HV Batteries, eATS, Charging system, and Hybrids. Currently, his unit is busy developing various digital alternatives of hardware intensive development protocols as well. The unit also focuses on modeling various physical aspects of batteries, charging systems, and e-drives through collaborative research with the academia as well as industry-partners.

As head of Innovation at MBRDI, Anshuman has installed an industry leading innovation platform called Innovation Engine 4.0 targeted to create impactful innovations from India for the world. Under Anshuman’s leadership, MBRDI has won multiple innovation awards - NASSCOM Engineering Innovation Award 2021, CII Industrial Innovation Award 2021, ZINNOV Great Place to Innovate Award 2022, & ASSOCHAM IP Excellence award 2022 to name a few.

Often a keynote speaker in various automotive and innovation forums, Anshuman brings life to a discussion owing to extensive international research and development experience as well as his unique perspective on leadership, technology, and innovation.

Rajeev Chaba is the President and Managing Director of MG Motor India, the India unit of the iconic Morris Garages British brand. He has over three decades of industry experience. Mr. Chaba has been instrumental in driving the MG brand in the country in a start-up-like setting, which has disrupted the industry in a significant way.

In his role at MG Motor India, Mr. Chaba has nurtured a strong, organization- wide focus on technology, gender diversity, and community service as key differentiators. Under his leadership, the marquee brand has successfully introduced 4 products within 2.5 years of operations with its products focused on Connected, Electric, Shared & Autonomous (CASE).

Over the course of his career, Mr. Chaba has held various senior positions within the top global automotive brands such as Chevrolet, Cadillac, Opel & Buick across multiple international markets. In 2005, he was the President & MD of GM in India. He has also served as the VP of Marketing & Sales at Shanghai-General Motors (SGM) in China and as the Chairman & MD for GM in North Africa & Egypt. Mr. Chaba started his career with Eicher Motors in 1990 after completing his Masters’ degree from IIM Bangalore.

Prior to joining MG Motor India, Mr. Chaba was the Global COO at Vanguard Logistics, Los Angeles (the USA) as part of Man Capital, UK, a PE firm. Santanu K. Mishra (S’00-M’04-SM’12) received a B.Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from the College of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar, India, in 1998, an M.Tech. degree in Energy Systems Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, India, in 2000, and the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, USA, in 2006. He worked as a Staff Application Engineer with the International Rectifier Corporation in Rhode Island, USA, from 2004 to 2008. Currently, he is a professor of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. He is also a visiting professor at CART, IIT Delhi. His research interests include power converter design, implementation, control, and applications in rural scenario. Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao is currently the Pillay Chair Professor in EE and the immediate Past Director of IIT Delhi. Before joining IIT Delhi as the Director in April 2016, Dr. Rao served as a P. K. Kelkar Chair Professor for Nanotechnology in the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Bombay. Prof. Rao's research contributions are mainly in the areas of Nanoelectronics & Sensors where he has published over 480 research papers and holds over 50 patents, which include 20 issued US patents. 15 of his patents have been licensed to industries for commercialization. Prof. Rao is a co-founder of two deep technology startups at IIT Bombay (Nanosniff & Soilsens) which have successful commercial products in the market. Besides his education and research activities, Prof. Rao is also well known for establishing major Nanoelectronics Programmes in the country. Dr. Rao is a Fellow of IEEE, a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), the Indian Academy of Sciences (IASc), the National Academy of Sciences (NASI), and the Indian National Science Academy (INSA). 52 Ph.D. students have graduated so far under his supervision and are working in leading academic institutions, semiconductor industries all over the world, including in India.

Ms Shikha Srivastava, Director, (Board Member), Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) is working in C-DOT since 1993. C-DOT is a premier R&D Centre of Govt. of India set up in 1985 to develop indigenous telecom technology. She received her B.Tech in Electronics Engineering from IIT-BHU, Varanasi, and Masters in Research degree from IIT, Delhi. She is a gold medalist. She has hands on and supervisory experience in communication systems analysis, design, development and support. Dr. Rishi Mohan Bhatnagar is an International Speaker and Thought Leader in the Internet of Things and Digital Space. He has co-authored the book “Enterprise IoT” along with a team from Bosch. He is the recipient of the ET Now Business Leader of the Year 2019”, Voice&Data “Leadership Recognition Award” – India 2019, Indian ISV “IoT CEO of the Year 2018” and BTVI “Business Leader of the Year 2018”. Currently, as President of Aeris Communications India Private Ltd. (100 % subsidiary of the privately held, Silicon Valley headquartered Aeris Communications Inc., pioneers in the m2m/IoT business since 1992); Dr. Bhatnagar is leading the Aeris business in the Indian subcontinent, MEA and the APAC region.

Prior to joining Aeris, Dr. Bhatnagar worked with Tech Mahindra in various portfolios and served as the Global Head for Digital Enterprise Services in his last role. Prof Brejesh Lall is presently Professor of Electrical Engineering Department and has earlier served as the head of Bharti School of Telecom Technology and Management at IITD, and as the coordinator of two centers of excellence, viz. Airtel IIT Delhi Centre of Excellence in Telecommunications and Ericsson IIT Delhi 5G Center of Excellence. Prof Lall has recently successfully completed his assignment as Co-PI for the Project “Building an end-to-end 5G Test Bed” funded by DoT. Prof Lall is currently IITD Principal Investigator for MeiTY’s 5G & Beyond project and is directing a research team of 6 faculty and 27 research scholars working in different domains including areas of Security, Low latency, Multi Access Computing, and Haptics. Other research domains include Haptics signal processing & analyses, Super resolution of Hyperspectral Imaging, Single-view depth estimation, Artificial video synthesis using Computer Vision and Semantic representation of objects in Media streams, AI/ML and IoT. He has mentored 5 startups, in the areas of Virtualization, Geo-fencing, UAV based solutions and recommendation and data mining. He actively participates in building and deploying technology. He also serves as expert in numerous government and private agencies in aspects related to signal processing. Prof Lall completed PhD in 1999 from IIT Delhi in the area of Multirate Signal Processing. He joined Hughes Software Systems in September 1997 and worked there for nearly 8 years in the Signal Processing group. He worked on Source Coding and PHY layer solutions for many communication technologies such as terrestrial wireless, GEO and LEO Satellite communication systems, Satellite broadband and others. Prof Lall returned to his alma mater and joined IIT Delhi as a faculty member in 2005. Dr. Sonde started his early career working as a scientist in the country’s top research institution namely Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC). He topped the entire batch of scientists and engineers and was awarded Dr. Homi Bhabha Gold Medal. In the formative part of his career, he was deeply involved in nuclear energy research, developing technology on Heavy Water Plants while interfacing with various scientific, academic and research institutions. He completed his PhD during his stint at Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) in the field of isotope separation simulation sciences. He was awarded for his contribution to nuclear energy and science a Gold Medal during the Golden Jubilee award in the hands of then Prime Minister. Subsequently after 23 years of working in Atomic Energy, he was invited to join as Executive Director in the country’s premier power generator, National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC). During his stint there, he created a new institution “Energy Technologies” which is now rechristened as NETRA to develop technologies in the thermal coal sector. Technology platforms that were established included Efficiency Enhancement of the thermal power plant, Clean Coal technologies like IGCC, carbon capture and sequestration and hybridizing thermal power plant with solar energy.

In his assignment as Executive Vice President and a member of the Executive Council of Thermax, his main thrust of activities was to bring innovation and enhance knowledge in all the existing technologies within Thermax while also involved in the developing new technologies in the field of energy, environment and water.

The current thrust of his developments are on Fuel Cell, Battery, Hydrogen in Energy and CDI (Capacitive Deionization) in Water. He is working on how to meet the climate change challenge while meeting the energy security of India. Coal to methanol (as hydrogen carrier) and methanol on board reformer to fuel cell to generate power (in CHP mode) is the way for building a hydrogen economy for India. He is pursuing this pathway in his current assignment.

These technologies are developed collaboratively with number of academic research institutes in India and abroad using state-of-the-art facilities.

Efforts are underway to take them to the commercial scale by creating appropriate business scale models.

He is currently the Chairman of the Task Force constituted by Niti Aayog on Production of Methanol using High ash coal .

He is also Fellow of National Academy of Engineers (FNAE), member on the CII / FICCI Consortium for Power & Renewable Energy, member of DST Committee on Water and many other committees.

He has been awarded the Dr. M. Vishweswarayya Gold Medal for standing first in the University of Mysore, Dr Homi Bhabha Gold Medal during the Golden Jubilee celebrations of BARC in the year 2006 by Hon’ble Prime Minister for his outstanding contribution in the nuclear field, Dr. Doraswami IIChE Medal and Gold Medal from the Indian Nuclear Society (INS).

He has currently assumed his position as Fulltime Professor of Practice at IIT Delhi, Adjunct Professor IIT Jammu, Advisor CSIR-NEERI, Member CII committee on MSW, Chairman DST committee on CCUS and serves as member to many committees on energy and environment.

Current interests are in clean coal technologies via gasification, hydrogen from biomass, CCUS, sodium sulfur battery, fuel cells for stationary & mobility etc.

Prof. Ligy Philip is Nita and KG Ganapathi Institute Chair Professor in Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Madras. She is a Fellow of National Academy of Engineers (FNAE) and Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC). For more than two decades, Prof. Ligy Philip has been contributing significantly to advancing the knowledge in the area of Environmental Engineering, and for the betterment of society through teaching and field and industry-oriented projects. She has conducted high quality research on treatment of industrial effluents from highly polluting industries, bioremediation of contaminated soils and groundwater, novel processes for drinking water treatment, and sustainable management of waste. She has about 400 publications to her credit with more than 160 papers published in reputed international journals. She has carried out over 35 sponsored/research based industrial research projects, both national and international projects, worth more than 500 million INR and guided 28 Ph.D. students. She has been on the editorial board of many international journals and national journals. She has also done several online courses including NPTEL, MOOC, TEQIP etc. related to Environmental Engineering. Technologies developed and patented by her have been successfully utilized by several industries and have been adopted by organizations such as UNICEF. She has provided consulting services to a large number of industries in the area of pollution monitoring and control. Reputed international organizations such as Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation utilize her expertise in the area of sanitation. She has served as a member of many expert committees set up by National Green Tribunal, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board and Kerala Pollution Control Board, and is member of several high-level, committees of DST, DBT etc. She was the Chairperson of BIS Water Purification Sub Committee. She is presently the Dean of Planning at IIT Madras and also heads the DST Center of Excellence, SUTRAM for EASY Water, which is an inter-institutional center involving nine institutes from all over India. She also has executed many socially relevant projects. Sustainable water and waste management projects are implemented in five villages. The technologies developed by her group were implemented in these villages.

Prof. Sagnik Dey is Institute Chair Professor at the Centre for Atmospheric Sciences, IIT Delhi. He received his M. Sc. in Applied Geoscience from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and M. Tech. and PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India. He worked as Postdoctoral Scientist at Department of Atmospheric Sciences, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA from Aug 2007 to Jul 2010. His research interests are to understand 'air quality, climate change and health nexus' and 'remote sensing of the Earth's climate system'. He has published more than 125 peer-reviewed research articles (h-index - 40 as per Scopus, 44 as per google scholar). He received INSA Young Scientist Medal in 2008, NASI-SCOPUS Young Scientist Award in 2012, Dr. Sudhansu Kumar Banerji MoES outstanding young faculty fellowship for the period 2011-2013, and Teaching Excellence Award from IIT Delhi in 2016. He is an international collaborator and science team member of NASA's MAIA satellite mission and served as an expert member of WHO "Global Platform on Air Quality and Health". He is a collaborator of the Global Burden of Disease Study and served as an expert in the India arm of the GBD Study. Prof. Dey has been awarded the Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professsional Excellence Fellowship for 2017-18. Prof. Dey is the coordinator of Centre of Excellence for Research on Clean Air (CERCA), IIT Delhi and is an Associate Faculty of School of Public Policy and Transportation Research and Injury prevention Centre (TRIPC), IIT Delhi. Mr. Alok Sharma is Executive Director at Centre for High Technology under Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. He has over 31 years of experience at IndianOil including R&D & Refinery including the areas of Process, Projects and Production. He has been instrumental in setting up Hydroprocessing, Gasification, Biofuels, Hydrogen and Fuel cell related facilities at IndianOil R&D. An expert in the Hydroprocessing, he has excellent knowledge of energy transition aspects. He received World Petroleum Congress Excellence Award 2008 and was selected for Prestigious Endeavour’s Awards in 2009 and went to CSIRO, Melbourne on Commonwealth Scholarship. He has over 30 granted patents in his name. Mr Sharma, has guided two PhD scholars and also successfully mentored two startups in the area of alternative energy. He was Guest Editor of Environmental Research (Elsevier Journal), Expert peer reviewer of Toxicology Excellence for Risk Assessment’s Health Canada’s Human Health Risk Assessment for Diesel Exhaust, and he was invited for talk in Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology, Nanjing, China (2018). He is actively engaged in research collaborations with scientists in India, US, Europe and China.
